Yarg!

Ugh! We lived here for 70 days before I found out where Bellingham's Walmart was! Today I found it. :( I really don't like a lot of things about Walmart, so when we moved here I decided I didn't want to know where it was, and was never going to shop there. The fact that it took me so long to find it is a testament to Bellingham's community reliance on more local stores. There are regional chains, sure, but the main places I shop for groceries are all local. I love it! Anyway, it looks like the Walmart isn't frequented by many people, it's not a Super Walmart and it's kind of hidden from view just north of the main shopping area.

This past summer, my truck's alternator and battery both died on me (one caused the other, but I'm not sure which one to blame). Anyway, it killed my radio/cd player, which was an aftermarket piece of garbage that had been installed by the previous owner. So, I basically haven't had a radio (or clock) in the car for about 6 months, but Jason just installed a "new" one for me! He was able to get one out of a car that had been impounded (I guess they didn't need it anymore) and it works great! I'm so glad to be able to listen to CD's in the car again.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it on here or not, but I'm doing some photography for a local magazine, Bellingham Alive. It's unpaid, but it will give me good experience and will get my name out into the community. Today I worked on my assignment for the next issue, which is a feature on chocolate shops in the area. There's only one shop actually in Bellingham (the magazine covers more of the county, and even Vancouver & Seattle stuff), so I just shot at their 2 locations. Below are some of my favorite shots, let me know what you think!
